Clutch Master Cylinder Problems

Allright so i drive a 2000 honda prelude sh. Recently i had to replace my clutch master cylinder due to a leak on the inner side of the cylinder. After replacing the clutch master cylinder i then proceeded to bleed the system through the slave cylinder valve. After getting a constant stream of clear fluid through the valve i then proceeded to push the clutch in, open the bleeder, close the bleeder, and pull the clutch back out. I did this a few times to make sure no air and i am getting constant bursts of clear fluid. What i am trying to figure out is why my clutch is still staying depressed to the floor. I have no leaks and this is really starting to annoy me. Any insight to my problem would be greatly appreciated as i am lost right now.

Edit: I've seen a couple other posts on here with people having the same problem. Im pretty sure i dont have to replace my slave cylinder as there are no leaks there and other people with the same problem tried it only to find that the clutch would still stay depressed. Other then that the only thing i can think of is maybe there is still some air inside the master cylinder that is being stubborn or something. Ahhh i need my car this week!!!!!!!

Re: Clutch Master Cylinder Problems

okay... heres what i would do....
bleed it like you bleed brakes. pump the hell out of it ... until good firm pressure is present.... then.. as your holding down on the pedal.... open the bleeder. let the pedal completely sink to the floor. then have the other person close the bleeder. do this at least three times. YOU HAVE TO PUMP IT TO HAVE PRESSURE> good luck.

Re: Clutch Master Cylinder Problems

yea man your gonna have to pump the clutch down about 20 times at a time an on the last one hold it down when you bleed it you will feel the pressure reless. you still have air in the system. you need a 2nd preson.

also use two hands on the slave cylinder push the folk in when you open it up. its faster.

Re: Clutch Master Cylinder Problems

Its sound like a bad cylinder, pull the master cylinder away from the booster and check the seal, if its leaking the cylinder needs to be replaced.

thanks,
