Two problems!

Tried search I didn't see anything that related, so I decided to post. SRS light...it wont go off. I tried restarting the battery, using a snap-on diagnostic computer, tried putting a wire in the yellow wire under the dash it just wont go off!!! Any help would be appreciated. Also I bought a Vis Invader Hood. I put it on doesn't fit right. I adjusted the hood latch, the rubber knobs, and it still sits too high. Hope you guys can help thanks! Oh and its a 5th gen.

Re: Two problems!

Hmm, as far as the cf hood issue, is it higher or raised in the rear of the panel? If so, maybe the washer stack up is off(on the rear mount brackets), what brand is it? Have any photos of it?

Re: Two problems!

It is raised where the head lights are. I have a gap on top of the headlights and on the sides going up the hood then it evens out once it makes its way up to where you actually bolt the hood on. It is a VIS Invader Hood. I got pics in my albums...you might be able to see the gaps, if not I will post pics when I get off work.

Re: Two problems!

might be because of your hood latch. try taking it off and getting some hood pins. I know when I had mine on it definantly left a gap unless I had the pins in.

Re: Two problems!

yea those vis hoods arent quite right. mine is a little crooked. theres rubber stops in the middle of the hood on the sides those need adjusting too. if that doesnt work, i suggest taking the rubber pieces off the stock hood (by the headlights) and installing them on the cf one. if you decide to do hood pins, go with the aerocatch flush mount ones. they looks sweet

Re: Two problems!

I have been researching the SRS light. Supposedly there is a manufactur test wire that is yellow? You are supposed to use a Jumper at the end of this wire. Have any clue where this test wire is located?

I put them in myself it took some time but no real issues. The best advice I can give you is to use a dremal tool with a drill bit, go around the template (the box they come in is the template) smaller then it is, then with the dremal use a router bit to cut it out almost to the edge of the template, then use a sanding disk with the dremal to make the edges smooth but make sure the hood pins fit into the cut outs tight.

Re: Two problems!

What if I have my hood cleared with pearl? Would this mess up the paint?
