F20B DOHC Vtec motor

Okay, im gonna ask a newb question b/c frankly, im pretty lazy at this moment.

this motor is a 1997 cc in displacement that came out of an Accord SIR-T, whatever that is...Torneo?

So, does anyone have any info about the motor?
They say 200hp@7200 RPM.
What does this tranny red line at? ...is this Accord not in that Vtec battle vid? im gonna go see...
What sort of gearing ratios came out of that Accord?
This i am curious of.
Im sure other transmissions can match against this motor...or am I wrong?

...subsequently, these guys are selling it for $1300.
http://www.hmotorsonline.com/shop/sc...age&item=30013

Rod/Stroke ratio of this 2 liter is appreciated.

This engine was used in the 1998-2002 Honda Accord SiR-T and Type R in non-US countries. It uses a DOHC VTEC cylinder head similar to the H22A found in the Prelude but was desgined to comply with many countries' sub-2.0 liter tax. The automatic transmission versions received the lower hp version, as it was tuned for more mid-range torque than its manual transmission counterpart.

Specifications

Bore × Stroke: 85.0 × 88.0 mm
Displacement: 1997 cc
Valve Configuration: DOHC, 16 valves, VTEC
Compression ratio: 11.0:1
Max power: 180-200 hp (134-149 kW) @ 7000 rpm
Max torque: 141-144 ft·lbf (189 Nm) @ 5500 rpm

Ah yes, thanks Manny!

Stupid Newton meters!

...that's not bad torque for a 2 liter...

I hope the gearing is nice...
Anyone actually driven a Prelude or perhaps an Accord with this swap?

Im also reading, there are 2 versions of this DOHC motor?

you can rev that mofo to 9k safely, since its has a shorter stroke. tranny is the t2t4 with lsd, same ratios as the 5th gen usdm prelude. these motors go for cheap and parts are interchangeable with the h22. same with the tranny.
I was gonna get that t2t4 tranny... actually a whole crashed accord with one of these motoros in there... too bad i didnt pick it up..

Actually the ratios are shorter than the H22 but I don't know how much by though.
Good find on the site B. The cheapest I've found one is $2,300.
The more I learn about this motor, the more I like it. Its basically a cast iron, de-bored, H22 with a little less bottom end torque. Take into considertion that the gears are shorter and it revs to 9K, its arguably as good as an H22.

Good.

How much does the Accord SIR-T weigh?
If it tops over 3000lbs, and still this 2 liter moves the car nicely, then im good. y0.

Edit: Did some searching

haha thats a bad deal, this deal i found was for 500 for a hit on the rear accord with a f20b with a t2t4, stage 3 clutch, stock ecu + ac.
what i deal i let go of...

and t2t4 got the same ratios as the 5th gen tranny, its on H-T.
SI_speed, ratios are not shorter, its actully opposite since the motor can rev higher, stock redline on f20s was 8k or a big higher i believe.

There is a specific year where the ecu these motors rev to 9k. I can't remember if it was 98 or 2000. If you get this motor and that particular ecu your golden.

I would but I know you'll never bring the price down where I can afford them so might as well just give you credit where it's due.
$150+sponges+N64 games+cat food+60 watt light bulbs for the rims? I know you need some of those useful items.

Sort of off topic, but there's a bloke down here who put a B18 VTEC head from a Type R Integra (RSX) on a B20A. Apparantly it wasn't that much work, so that may well be a project worth investigating.

b18? that's an Integra.
RSX is the K series.
Yeah, the only hybrid i would consider is the LS/Vtec.
only because im very familiar with the B series motors.
But of course, i dont have an Integra anymore. . .

Trust me, doing a b16/b18 head swap onto a b20a block is not worth the trouble it is. A head that makes power past 7500k RPM and a block(b20a) that will explode after 7K RPM.

Thanks Manny.
Im still considering the 2 liter Vtak motor. . .

Okay, more questions:

I'm reading here and there that the Accord H22 motors have a slightly higher rear motor mount point. . .

So this will be a problem then for 4th gen Luders and other(1990-2002) model Accords, correct?

b20vtec with a LS crank is gansta! Not much different that a typical ls/vtec. Just gives a lot more torque and the ls crank can handle the high revs just fine. Even with the higher stroke...
