Which paint should I use?

So I have been planning to paint my vc and brake calipers for quite some time. Originally I was planning to go with a black and white theme on my prelude (mostly panting everything black, since my car is white), but I have seen a lot of people who have done that, and decided I wanted my prelude a be more representative of ME. So I've decided to go with a white and pink theme (no jokes guys, I have a feeling I'm gonna get burned haha)

Anywho, I would typically go with Duplicolor products for this project. Buuuut it has occurred to me that I am not going to be able to find pink paint by them. I have found two other brands that DO make pink paint in shades that I am looking for. So I was wondering if any of you guys have ever used G2 high performance paint or any VHT products. Are they good quality products that will be worth my money and time? Are there any other brands that make pink paint you'd recommend? Or will I be better off just to stick with my original b&w plan?

Thanks in advance for any guidance!

Re: Which paint should I use?

Considering your a girl, pink is not nearly as bad, however I do not condone it. As far as caliper paint goes, just make sure it's high heat resistant, if I do remember about 500 degrees fahrenheit. I could be wrong on the degrees, but honestly it'll flake off after a few years either way, which will of course require a repaint. I have a friend who paid top dollar for a powder coat on his calipers and it wore away about the same time mine did, and I used a $15 can of Dupli. Brand of paint will not make a difference, it's more about the painter's skill.

For the VC, I'm sure you can use the same paint. It will need to be high heat of course. Any other questions feel free to PM me, I've been there/done that with a lot of this paint stuff.

Re: Which paint should I use?

Yer a chick...yer allowed to have pink on yer car and not get ridiculed. I mean, I wouldnt trash a dude either, but the urge is there....Anywho... As long as you do it right, any High Temp. paint will work. Just make sure you get all the brake dust and grease and any other contaminates off the surface yer gonna be painting, and give it a good amount of time to dry and cure, atleast 24 hours, dont rush it, and should come out fine. Post some pics on here when you got it all piizzzimped. Good luck

God Damn DJ yer fast!!!
I wish I would have gone with white...Oh well

Re: Which paint should I use?

as long as its high heat paint your fine. id recommend the 1500 degree to be safe. also before you paint you want to use an adhesion promotor/cleaner. it will help the paint last.

Re: Which paint should I use?

I've always used Rustoleum indoor/outdoor brush on paint for calipers and never had a problem with peeling, even after several years of use. Valve cover I use Duplicolor engine primer+paint. Prep work is extremely important on the valve cover because everyone spills a little oil once in a while and it will ruin your attempt at paint if it's not cleaned off

Yeah I saw someone with the Pink g2 paint, and it's EXACTLY what I'm looking for as far as the color. I think that's what I'm going to end up going for, since it seems I'm hearing a lot of good reviews on the quality of the paint.
