Icon5 Does anyone know about the Unorthodox Crank shaft pulley??

I couldn't find to many reviews on these for ludes, so mine as well post it on here.

I was looking to get a little quicker 1/4 mile time, my one friend suggested buy a new crankshaft pulley. He said it was a cheap mod and i guess increases hp from 10-15hp(according to the website). I don't know if its complete bs or is it really worth buying. I found one on andy's for about $120 not including new belts.

From a huge eclipse forum I stumped upon I saw some people saying they could really feel it and others saying no not worth the money.

More to the tech talk side I also heard from a few people that it can damage your engine more than do good?? I'd like to know hah can anybody help or have the pulley???

Thanks alot,
Rob

i really cant see how they can do damage. i had some light weight pulleys (crank, power steering, ac) on my previous car, along with a light weight flywheel i think its a great mod to do. but id say that pulleys with out the light weight flywheel may not be a worth while mod, id say do them both and it'll rev up nice and freely and u will notice it then.

Re: Does anyone know about the Unorthodox Crank shaft pulley??

You'll notice the difference but a lot of people say that it causes damage to your engine because it causes a lot of vibration because it weighs less. I've read people having it for 20k+ miles and not having any damage other people have.

I have AEM underdrive pulleys and hate them, sure they give you better low end power and response but it makes it tough to steer at low rpm's and you get less amps at low rpm's resulting in dimmed head lights and affects your air blower.

on my previous car i had light weight ones not under drive ones, never had any problems with them and it was just more responsive without the electrical system knobbing about.
id go with light weight ones again but i wouldnt bother with under driven ones
