itb, camshafts and good tune vs turbo?

as title suggests, what would be better, or are we talking all of the above!
i like the thought of itbs and obviously the sound and im guessing along with some good camshafts the sound is gonna be frickin sweet. but then on the same hand i like the look of the front mount intercooler and the sound of a dump valve and of course the power.
i recently got a fairly decent pay rise so every penny of my extra money is gonna be going in to 'rich's prelude fund' so im hoping my car should come along way soon, maybe not as sweet as some of the preludes on here but hey some where close and im a happy boy!!!
so just gathering ideas
cheers
Rich

Re: itb, camshafts and good tune vs turbo?

you will get more power without a doubt going boost, and it will be a much easier build. you have to be very dedicated to go N/A and if you are wanting to do itbs this will be even more difficult. itbs are probably the hardest addition to a motor to tune. they are affected by weather changes and so forth. you have to find a VERY EXPERIENCED tuner if you are wanting to run these. you have alot of research ahead of you no matter which way you go. also, an N/A setup to get +250whp will cost at least twice as much versus going boost for that much power.

umm yeah thats not really DD material. an h27 does sound nasty but its not something you could reliably drive everyday. when you stroke an H22 out that much it basically puts it in the class of a race engine.

98vtec is our resident tuning guru, and even had didn't get the results he wanted from itb's.

If you go all motor, go with a euro-r manifold.

be careful of the honda fairies. rebuilding a motor NA mildly, aggressively, whatever... can be just as or even more unreliable as turbo.

turbo is much better, but if u dont want to deal with boost lag go with the NA setup.

Re: itb, camshafts and good tune vs turbo?

turbo is simply easier to go faster. Anyone with half a brain could put a good turbo setup together. Not necessarily true for NA, and thats what i like about it.
