oil in spark plug

what could be the reasons why oil is gettin into the spark plug area? ......not on my car on my buddys 94 vtec which i might be buyin off him

spark plug seals. When u take the valve cover off, there's a rubber ring that goes around the spark plug holes. Its keeps oil from leaking into the plug hole area.


Is the oil on the tops of the plugs(above the threads), or all over the area exposed to the combustion chamber(below the threads)?

but it still runs fine just wen u floor it ull see a lil bit of smoke wen ur behind it but thats it other then that ive never seen any smoke

just the tip? that's what she said...

it could be blow by from the rings, or possibly a valve or valve related issue.

Do a compression test on it. It should help figure the problem out, or at least narrow it down.

it could be to much oil, i put to much oilk in mine and i had to flush the engine because the plugs had oil in them

vtec causes smoke! the o-rings under the valve cover as noted above, as shoof has mentioned! buy needs a new valvecover gasket/ o rings. the come as a pair!

Purchase a valve cover gasket set and see if the oil in the spark plugs comes back.

Search for this information next time.
