Icon9 Oil light/oil leaking issues

I bought my car in Feb. I wasn't sure how long the last oil change was so I changed it myself using Royal Purple 10-30 I used the right amount in it. I recently took off my valve cover and cleaned it and re painted it since it looked like garbage. A few days later I was just showing one of my friends the v-tec revd it to about 6.5 and them something strange happened I'm not entirely sure what. Hah a few days after that I realized my oil light came on for only a second when I drove into the driveway. I changed the oil about 1000miles b4 this happened. Checked my oil it was fine realized that there is a slight oil leak under the valve cover, so i checked around the area of it and other places and realized there was some oil on my hood, So I started my car and was feeling for any air or something and found out there is air coming out right by the middle back nut that holds it down. I was wondering if somehow I cracked my valve cover or what did I do XD. Also is this the reason my oil light keeps flickering when im pulling in my driveway?

I hope I explained it enough? Hoping to hear some answers soon XD Thank you!

Re: Oil light/oil leaking issues

well... first off dont keep starting it if your oil light is coming on. second .. your oil pressure sensor is located on the back of they block under your oil filter. one wire goes to it...yellow/red. see if its connected most likely its not.... causing it flicker.... like it has a bad connection or is grounding out on something else. as for oil shooting up at the hood... did you put the rubber grommets on?? you know the ones that go under the 10mm chrome nuts on the top of the cover. sounds like you should replace those because it might be pushing past the grommets.

Dude if your oil light is coming on add oil to your car.

Your oil light wont go on until its too late and have almost no oil in your car. Luckily you have a honda and not a ford. You probably need to buy a new valve cover gasket, did you do that when you painted it?
