Squeaking?

I've searched and couldn't find anyone with the same problem, so...
My problem is, when I start up my car, it'll squeak, and when I say that, I mean it squeaks horribly. But I can just rev the engine up to about 3 or 4 grand and it stops until the next time I start the car. I'm pretty sure it's a belt, but I could be wrong. Any ideas?

Re: Squeaking?

Well, the thing is, I got the belts replaced... It stopped for a week and it started again. Sorry I didn't mention that when I posted.

Re: Squeaking?

yes but i would start there.... it could always be a bearing in the alternator or PS but that is very doubtful

Re: Squeaking?

i just had my 5th gen do that, and my 4th gen ussed to do that TOO.. i had the belts changed on the 5th like 4K miles ago.. then it started squealing like a pig.. i took it to my shop, they tightened the tension on the belt.. easy fix.. 28 bucks..

Re: Squeaking?

My alternator belt was doing that for forever, just fixed it last night haha. It's horribly embarrassing, isn't it? Just play around with the bolts, i had to loosen one and tighten the other before it finally shut the hell up.
