need advice on a 92 im thinking of buying

k so my wife and i were on the way home from town and not 15 miles from my house she saw a prelude in the middle of a pasture. ive lived here 2 years drove past it everyday and never noticed it. so any ways she wants it. its a silver 92 with a h23. the only thing he said was wrong with it is a broke timing belt. which he says is cheap to fix but i know of problems with bending your valves to hell. he wants 300 for the car the interior is good and body is good other than the clear coat coming off the mirrors and a dent in the front passenger fender it looks like a pipe fell on it its rounded with no crease in the fender. i have roughly 1500 saved for upgrades on my car but im thinking of using that money to get this up and running for her. what is yalls input on this? think i could make a good car for her out of that amount?

without a doubt dude. That is an awesome deal. Leme explain to you how good that is.

1) 300. You can't go wrong with a car that either A) Runs or B) Moves for under $500. Its worth more than that. Unless its like a geo metro that is all torn up. but even still. You could easily part it out and make over 1000 without even trying.

2) with 1500 total, that leaves you 1200 after the price of the car. With 1200 you could easily motor swap it. You can pick up a JDM H23 (non vtec) for 900 scooners off of www.hmotorsonline.com or you could even save up a bit more and get an H22. The average mileage of their motors are 30,000. Thats low as hell. They are all compression tested also and you will be sent pictures.

3) you could even use the parts you need for YOUR lude, and sell the car as a whole afterwards for even double what you paid. The motor alone with bent valves you can get 300-500 beans. Not a bad deal eh?

Re: need advice on a 92 im thinking of buying

nope im prolly going to pic it up by the end of the week. i would do a h22 swap but my wife would never need or use the extra horse power. shes a crazy driver lol. ill prolly put another h23 in it that way i dont have to install all the vtech sensors or change the computer out. i was thinking it was a heck of a deal it even has stock 16 or 15s not for sure they r the alloy wheels they r pretty nice for stock. i guess ill be holding off on my car for awhile after i fix my cv problem. i guess its worth it to get my wife involved in the prelude world it needs alot more people in it thats for sure. im sick of seeing preludes in junkyards yea its nice when u need a part but it still makes me sick.
