Xenocron tuning.... i don't have enough positive things to say about them.
http://xenocron.com/

Chris Harris... not only one of the nicest ppl I've ever met, but he knows what the fukkkk he's doing. He dyno-tuned my car in only 3 hours, made a couple pulls at each 6, 8, and 10psi.

Customer service is also excellent

Re: NY TUNER DIRECTORY

so because your engine blew up that makes him a liar and a thief? Did you expect him not to collect his money just because you lost out?

I've been around for awhile and i have never heard of this about the whole NRG tech crew. Not to mention they have always put out great information for viewers.

This is common practice in tuning shops around the world. If the engine blows on the dyno it is almost always deemed to be the fault of something within the car. Unless the engine is torn down and the cause of the problem was an error with the build (and if the engine was built by the same place that is tuning it) then the tuner will never take responsibility, and personally (in 99% of cases) I don't think they should.

Also, wouldn't this be more relevant in the NY section? It will get lost if it stays in the general tech area.

Re: NY TUNER DIRECTORY

okay. to clear up the liar and theif part about mr. miller.
i had my car street tuned. w/ hondata on 10psi by miller when they had the first shop in deer park. there was an oil leak that i was trying to fix. one day oil pushed past the balancer shaft seal and obviously enough oil leaked out while i was driving...driving hard and under boost and threw a rod. fine...thats my fault. i should have stayed on top of the oil leak.
2nd time: so i had the motor rebuilt by a reputable machine shop. new rods/bearings new crank/mains new pistons/rings balancer shaft removal kit to prevent that same mishap. I DID COMPRESSION CHECK. I MADE SURE THERE WERE NNNNOOOO OIL LEAKS. bring it to be tuned. miller puts it on the dyno..... does a series of pulls. sounds fine to me. then he starts saying one of the cylinders is running too hot. then he does a compression test. he tells my compression is low. i believe him and tell him okay how much for you to tear the motor down and do everything over again. so he does... charges me 3400. new rod bearings/pistons rings/headgasket/arp studs(which i already had) says there were warped. i had him also do a valve train upgrade ..crower dual valve springs and retainers...and gave him another head to take the valves out of to make sure i used the best valves just incase any were messed up.
i get the car back a week later. he shows me dyno sheet. i never saw the car on the dyno this time. said 289hp w/ 256lbs tq at 8psi. so i asked why it didnt break into the 300s and he told me my spearco intercooler was too small and my log manifold had to much back pressure causing the cylinders to run to hot. i believed him and paid then drove home. on the way home the car started running like crap... i found a vacuum line blew off . okay fine no big deal it was late and i just wanted to get home. next day i checked out the car. the valve cover was leaking oil, the dowpipe wasnt bolted in all the way, there was a dent in my roof from them putting my hood on it, oil leak from my camshaft seals... tbelt side, and my girlfriends necklace which was in my center console was missing along w/ my butterfly knife.

okay okay.... i must of misplaced this stuff and oil leaks can be fixed.... so i let it slide. i save up ...buy the spooling performance manifold and 600hp percision intercooler. even upgraded intercooler piping w/ new hks blow off valve. took it back to miller at nrg. miller ... wanted to check over the car before hitting the dyno this time. did compression check and boost leak check. everything from my knowledge checked out okay. puts it on the dyno. runs it the first time runs awesome... shoots a 2 foot flame out the back ... prolly the sickest thing i ever saw lol. then does another pull... tell me to disconnect my msd 6al box... he said there is a problem w/ the ignition??? so i rewire it to run w/ just the coil almost like stock. he runs it two more times. then in the middle of the 3rd pull....i hear it start screaming really loud... then smoke came out. and he just kept on tuning. he even did two more pulls. i knew my motor just fried. so he gets out and tells me something is wrong w/ the motor. and i said ... you guys just rebuilt it... what could be wrong?? he said it hit 15psi... i said how... ?? he said he didnt know. so we take apart the wastegate spring and he says there is a 15psi spring in the wastegate. ????? how if the car was only running 8psi on the last tune w/ a different manifold. he had explained that w/ the old log manifold i was running he had to put the bigger spring because of back pressure. so okay.... so he put a bigger spring and it over boosted then killed the motor?

he then blames me. saying that i over boosted it on the way over to him. there is no way i could of done that.... being petrified of blowing up my third motor i made sure i didnt push or even make boost so i wouldnt break anything so he can tune it. i asked if he could work w/ me ... since he did build the motor and then obviously blew it up on the dyno. he said it was out of his hands.

so ... i tore the motor down. my headstuds torqued down to 130+ ft lbs. arp's directions says 80ft lbs. i also found pistions 2 and 3 the valve reliefs were melting. when i pistion melts it mean they are getting too hot. leaning out in other words..which is controled by his tuning.

then a year ago.... after tearing the motor down i replaced the pistons w/ new wiseco 9.1s i redid the head studs. upgraded to the hondata s300 and since the last pistons melted my turbo was done w/ so got a new smaller turbo and got tuned by rob from no limit. made 313hp at 13psi. upgraded to the skunk2 intake manifold and made 331hp. the car still runs like a champ and i just put a ball bearing percision turbo and skunk2 70mm tb. which now has to get retuned and setup for boost by gear.

so you tell me... after the experience i had w/ nrg ... if this happened to you... wouldnt you think miller was a liar and theif????
