Tools sets and what not..

Hey everyone, I am not an expert on cars, but am trying to be. I need to get a torque wrench/ tool kit for my prelude. The only problem is that I don't know what kind of measurements Japanese cars use and Domestic cars. (I think Japanese are Metric..) I just need someone to send me a link or something because i don't know where to go........

Thanks everyone

yes jap. metric and what do you need the torque wrench for so i can get a better idea what you need. do you want 3/8 drive of 1/2.

See that's the problem, i dont know what 3/8' and 1/2' mean when they are talking about cars.. I just need a universal one i guess, like intake, cat-back exhaust, headers all that stuff.

Re: Tools sets and what not..

ok you know on sockets there is a square cut out on the end well that size is the drive its what fits on the wrench ya know well there is three different drive sizes 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2. but for what you need a 3/8 drive torques wrench that can go down to 10 foot punds would be good( how many pounds of force you put on the bolt of whatever) i say if you want good stuff that is pretty cheap craftsmen. now if you want expensive stuff matco,snap-on, mac are the best. i personally like matco. sorry if thats confussing its hard to explain.

Re: Tools sets and what not..

get a 3/8" drive, that can go from 10-100lb-ft. that should be plenty for what you need if your just starting to work on your car.

any of the ^^^above^^^ mentioned brands are quality tools as well

Re: Tools sets and what not..

i would recommend you buy a tool kit of at least 150 pieces if you dont have any tools at all. something like this would be a good starter.
