Re: Squeaky Clutch?!?!?

it could be that your clutch slave cylinder is worn / dried up / needs replacing etc - open your hood and you can see it attached to the top of your gearbox!! if it looks dry then grease that **** up!!!

anyway its nothing major and a part which is very cheap and can be replaced easily!!!

Re: Squeaky Clutch?!?!?

sounds like a throwout bearing (which sucks to change cuz you gotta drop the entire tranny)

Re: Squeaky Clutch?!?!?

come on guys you dont have to be so dramatic - the chances of it being the clutch throwout bearing is slim - he stated that it only happens when the car is cold, if the release bearing was worn out it would be making that noise all the time. also i think the op needs to state whether he has noticed any difference in clutch engagement and release which would indicate which one of these two is the possible diagnosis,

Re: Squeaky Clutch?!?!?

How many miles does the clutch have on it? Mine started squeaking shortly after getting my Lude and it had 180k miles on it, and shortly later the clutch went out. The clutch plate was toast, the steel pins started to rub on the pressure plate.

Re: Squeaky Clutch?!?!?

Exactly as Selude said. Mine started doing it on start up in the morning then slowly started doing it when i pressed the clutch. Clutch gave up soon after. Knew it wasnt the cylinders cause I had just changed them. Since changing my clutch its completely gone. have pics of what of clutch to explain what SE is saying. Can post later!!!

Well, not only at start-up but if i pay attention and tune out my exhuast, i'll still hear/feel it... so looks like the tranny's gotta come off which means MAD bills need to be handed over cause Lord knows i'd **** something up and be totally screwed! Thanks for all the sugg's though...
