Tranmission Intervention

Ok,

My search for a 5th gen has netted me some good finds.

The best unfortunatley is a 1997 Silver Automatic.

My question is.....

I am yanking the 22, and the tranny out.....

How much extra trouble am I creating if I want to manualize it ?

Re: Tranmission Intervention

it is not hard to "manualize it" lol. it is a really straight forward swap. the only customization is the pedal ....really just cutting the hole for the clutch master to bolt to the pedal. there are many write ups on this. just search around. if you have any other ???? about it lemme know ill be glad to help.

Re: Tranmission Intervention

The searches are revealing some significant costs that do not make sense.

Shifter, cables, pedal fab, and ecu.....

How can that add up to $3000?

Re: Tranmission Intervention

cost for the swap is growing in recent years. its becoming harder to find parts. the tranny alone can run a grand now a days. but you can get a good one for about 600. labor is a big part of it.... that is if you don't do it yourself.

Re: Tranmission Intervention

okay well.... parts that you will need:
5spd tranny (h22/h23/f22)
shifter and shifter cables
slave cylinder
clutch master cylinder
steel line either oem or custom steel braided to go from clutch master to slave cylinder
clutch pedal
5spd transmission mount

this is for a 5th gen prelude. from the two swaps that i have done this was all i needed.
you can get away w/ an auto ecu. the car will run and drive fine you will just have a higher idle.
but i can understand 3000- for the swap. i normally charge 1000- to do it.
