ALMOST overheating.

yesterday and today i drove an hour in 75-80 degree weather, and my temp gauge gets up to the 3rd bar. thats too high for my liking. so i gotta start blasting my heat til it goes down. thats not fun when your pass window doesn't work either

its not stop and go traffic either, its a constant 65mph.
coolant level is fine, but MIGHT have some air in it.

Re: ALMOST overheating.

You ever think about since you do have a log style manifold you could still use a full size radiator?

Re: ALMOST overheating.

that radiator is designed to cool a much smaller engine, i'd add a second or larger fan if possible

Re: ALMOST overheating.

yea i forget my reasoning why i got the 1/2 rad. i could most likely use a full rad, i'd just need slim fans to fit.
i'm starting to get a feeling that its the rad, grrrr.

time to drive to bridgewater. lets see if it still does it.....

Re: ALMOST overheating.

Isn't it an el cheapo, no-name radiator from ebay?

You did check to make sure there's still fluid in it right?

Re: ALMOST overheating.

pretty sure i figured it out.

since this is the hottest i've driven it on the NEW setup, i'm almost positive the hole in the downpipe (like, two inches away from the turbine outlet haha) is blowing alottttt of exhaust onto the radiator, even tho the rad is on the pass side, and the hole is pointing to the driver side.

now that baja is finally done, i can fix/weld all my exhaust problems/install my 3"
