White Exaust Smoke

hey, guys I've been wondering what does it mean when you have white smoking coming out of my tail pipe?
the exuast smells like gas, obviously cause it comes out of the exuast.
but a stronger smell of gas.
and what can i do to get rid of the white smoke?

Re: White Exaust Smoke

Have someone (a friend or family member) drive behind you and see what color the smoke is coming out. people behind you can see better than you can. Is there oil in your coolant or coolant in your oil? White smoke is usually a head gasket leak.

Is it just on start up? or is it while your driving around all the time?

well every car has white smoke coming out of the exhaust on start up. Its just because its warming the car up and its running rich. When its warmed up tho? seems like a HG leak to me. Try driving it around them parking it up and lookin at it. whats the temperature around your way?

umm the temp is normal.

but new problems arise now after and during the test drive, now i got a terrible bogging problem.
like when the car starts its a good idle, and then after awhile it roughens up, gets lower RPM, and then dies.
Then, since the engine stutters i try to rev up it still chokes, and when I'm in drive, i try to move forward, i either bog, or open the throttle fully open and the engine doesnt rev at all. it takes awhile to get a certain RPM, and doesnt want to rev most of the time,

and then, im having a cooling pressure problem, my car is having alot of pressure, so much where the water/coolant seeps through the Radiator cap.
and the cap is brand new.

but the good thing is that i dont have a rod tick yet

along with leaking oil, not from the oil pan, cause i recently changed that out.
what else would be leaking?

Re: White Exaust Smoke

White smoke is water.
If it has a blue-ish tint to it, then that's an oil leak.

Many common reasons for white smoke are; spark plugs, low compression, head gasket issues, thermostat stuck open, cracked head gasket, cylinder or block. You said before in another thread that you did something to the coolant lines, or you're not running a thermostat or something?

Stop driving the car.

i havent drove the lude in awhile, but i dont think its from the thermostat, cause when i took it off, i never got white smoke.

Re: White Exaust Smoke

sometimes an improperly bled coolant system can give white smoke from the exhaust leading you to believe you have a bad head gasket. the only way to tell is to a leak down test to prove the gasket. If you've done work on the coolant system, make sure you have all the air out.

Re: White Exaust Smoke

im burning oil then, i doubt its my HG cause there is no leak in the coolant, and there is no water mixture under the VC.
if anything that means a rebuild is needed, plus i've been wanting to,I'm just talking to my parents about it, and getting all the right tools.

anyways, as previously stated or correction, it only happens during car running and not going anywhere, and start up.
didnt see any smoke after i've been running through the neighborhood.
