An odd question

Ok so I have always been into cars but now that I started buying cars I've started to learn how the actual engine works and how to upgrade it, now to my question

I have an h23a1 motor and I am looking to turbo it.
What I am wondering is if I turbo my n/a car then can i still buy the parts that specify that they are for n/a h23 engines..? if not how do i find parts for a non n/a h23 engine?

please dont flame me haha this is a serious question and any help would be appreciated

thanks,
chris

Re: An odd question

depends on what parts your talking about.

when you go turbo, the air filter and intake tube get replaced by IC piping.
the header gets replaced by the manifold, turbo, and downpipe.

but if your talking about internal parts of the engine like cams and pistons, they are ALWAYS application specific, meaning they're made SPECIFICALLY for turbo or all motor.

Re: An odd question

so pretty much like my intake and headers and stuff are gonna get replaced with the turbo installation and if I want to put like a cold air intake on I'm going to find a universal one? or how would I go about doing like upgrading those things?

also whenever I turbo it you said I'm going to need to replace my internals... where would I go to find those internals for a turboed car?

thanks for the help btw

as twokexlv6coupe you would be replacing the intake setup! hence no need for a cai.

best advice is to search and read in the forced induction section. what u would replace internally is dependent upon your output goals u want and your exact application.
