Short shifters?????

Hey guy! my roommate just got me into these forums and I think its great what you guys do to help each other. I got some questions though. I have a 97 SH with a few bolt ons and was looking into short shifters. I was wandering if it was better to get just a straight short shifter or the conversion kits?

Thanks guys

Re: Short shifters?????

Straight short shifter, P-Spec makes one. I don't have it but plan on it soon. A lot of people have it on here. This topic has been discussed a lot, try the search next time.

Re: Short shifters?????

There are no real short shifters for 5g preludes.

You can order a 4g 4bidden short shifter from their website (even though I believe they are on back-order right now) And put a 4g shifter assembly into your 5g. Its a little time consuming, but well worth it in the end. There is a write up for it either on here, or on preludepower. I'm not sure which. I'll even find it if your serious.

P-Spec, DC, etc etc is all short shift adapters. They aren't true short shifters. They just move the shift linkage up to a higher point on your shifter (thus making the throw a weeeee bit shorter) but its not an actual short shifter.

just some advice and food for thought.

Good luck.

Re: Short shifters?????

I've installed a couple of Neuspeed short shift adapters in a few Preludes, and all have been happy with them. Click here for more info --> Neuspeed Short Shift Adaptor

You are wrong.
Pspec still makes one. Lean used to make one and people are still out there with them.

It's the same as the base model. The stock SH knob is just bigger.

Problem is, he hasn't done any orders since before christmas. See if you can't find a used one. They're VERY good quality so you'd be okay getting it used.

the adapters work for what you pay for em. The only issue I've had with mine is that it breaks the console panel that covers up the shifter and crap. I've broke 2 so far.

I'm gonna search ebay and craigslist for my SS. I have heard some complaints about back order. Actual product is said to be great tho.
