Cooling plate

Do Cooling plates make much of a difference on a DD or they only useful for track and drag applications? Does anyone make them for the 5th gen?

Re: Cooling plate

Not a noticeable difference, but it helps. They look good in mot cases though.
I've seen one 5t gen with a custom carbon fiber one but that's it.

Re: Cooling plate

what's the point of them other than, keepin crap from coming into the engine hull? I took off my plastic stock one cause it was a PIA to take off whenever I need to reach for something under the hood.

Re: Cooling plate

i don't know how much of a difference they'd make on a DD but i've searched everywhere for them and i'm afraid you're going to either get one custom made or make one yourself but be warned it will be a hell of alot of work

Re: Cooling plate

seems like it but supposed to help block air from going under hood so that it goes directly to the radiator to help keep the engine cooler. i have a nice one for my 4th gen but still havent installed it unfortunately.

I posted a pic of one once, and I'll be buggered if I can find at atm. Search for posts by me, it'll be in there somewhere.
