Is my RPM at idle correct?

Do you guys think this is too low for when the car is warmed and idling?

I ask because when I quickly press the gas from idle it's not as responsive as I think it should be. There's like a one second delay before the RPMs shoot up. So a lot of times from a complete stop when I take off it feels like it's slipping or studdering for a quick second before it takes off.

Re: Is my RPM at idle correct?

No that should really be fine, as long as the car isn't like shaking hard because of the idle rpm's. A fine running car should run between 500-1000 rpms. My 4g stays at 700 or so. That looks about 500rpms.

BUT it may be even a little more than that. Honda tachometers are notorious for being off. Seriously. There was a whole thread (its somewhere on here) where we talked about it.

I'm not sure about your lag when hitting the gas though. Do you have an automatic?

Re: Is my RPM at idle correct?

I have the same issue and I think it idles too low. It shakes some and makes too much noise, I would prefer 900-1000rpm for idle. I can't wait to get a Greddy E-manage and cam gears.

900-1000 is idle range for an automatic.

if you got a stick it should idle somewhere around 600-800

Re: Is my RPM at idle correct?

You're at 400 rpms there. I don't think it's a trouble.

If you want to adjust it however, I can post the whole page, which describes how to do so.

No, it's not, the lower white line is 500RPM.

It's indicating a 700RPM idle on that gauge.
