Puttin summer rims on...do i need to align them?

Hey everyone ive been a ghost on these forums for a little while but have a question and needed to register.....so every summer i put my 18's on and take off my stock rims, and i get an alignment...my question is- Is that necessary? I have had problems with my tires being not aligned and the tires going bald very fast, but idk if it was from that it was from when i first bought the car the guy didnt have them aligned.....so Basically do you need to align tires/rims when going from a smaller to much larger size??

no its not required. only when you change the ride height or install new components or feel a pull in the steering is it recommended.

Re: Puttin summer rims on...do i need to align them?

if the outer diameter is within 2" of each other and the ride height isn't being changed.... the alignment should be close enough to negate the need for an alignment. As long as the tires are balanced you should be ok.
