I'm having this same problem; I'm just curious if anyone came up with a solution for this problem?

I personally would assume a short somewhere in the circuit. Check grounds and connections for a short somewhere. I'm sure Renee will either conde this or offer alternate solutions. So free bump for you whilst you await NAy-nay. even though I think you're a bit passed your deadline for needing this fixed, eh Aoife? lol

ha ya the deadline was a little while back alright. I still haven't fixed this and I cant believe I've left it for a year but from talking to some people who know a lot more about electrics than I do they all reckon it's a short. I HATE car electrics though so that's why I keep putting it off

I cannot agree with Lazer more... he is spot on. You have a short in the wiring. Due to its location alone being a high probability of the cause, I would go buy a small box of fuses, and start troubleshooting at the source, the lights of course. Unplug em both, replace fuse, turn switch on... does it blow? If so, it isnt the lights, rather it will be in the wiring. Keep going back wards to the a/b connector, and follow the same procedure until you find the section or source of the short.

Without getting too technical, this is the best option I have to give you.

yaaay I'm learning. I honestly can't wait to own a car that I can just tear through and experiment with as a project. Damned needing to be places and needing a DD lol

Hope you can get the issue resolved. Shorts in a circuit can be a serious pita.

that's some great advice. I'll check the fog lights in the next day or 2 cause disconnecting them seems like an easy test. Thanks!

Yep it's a serious pain but hopefuly I'll actually get off my ass and get it fixed this time lol

Re: fuse keeps blowing, i need help ASAP

that circuit is fairly short too (no pun intended...) so its a good one to practice on!

If it isnt the stock fog lights then check the switch itself...Ive had problems some times in the switch... but do check the connections where the bulbs are because sometimes when the bulbs get too hot or not properly installed they heat up the wiring causing a wire to ground to a positive.....

I have a $50,000 work truck that has a short in the circuit for the box lights, tail lights, and interior lights. it's two years old and been in the shop 7 times for this problem alone. I hope you have better luck than the stealership lol
