Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems

Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems. Fresh cold start 30 psi and once it warms up 0-2 psi at idle. So I tried another oil pump same thing. Checked the gasket and pickup. The pan is not dented in I have 1/8 to 1/4 in between pickup and pan. The only thing I can think of is they cut into an oil vein during the sleeving process.

Re: Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems

the sensor is where the stock one was with the tee to the turbo. I thought it was the gauge too but I plugged in a mechanical sunpro gauge and the same bad news.

Re: Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems

do you have anything aftermarket on connecting to your oil filter area?

second, did you have new bearings installed when your block was sleeved?

in my build thread below, i experienced the same things you did, read it to find out what my symptoms were and how we ended up isolating the problem and fixing it.

or you could just tell us so we could all avoid the hassle and headache of finding your thread, weeding through all the posts that are pages and pages long, which would inevitably end up with giving up reading your thread and being even more aggravated than before reading the thread, winding up with us drinking ourselves into a mindless oblivion where we can't remember our own names anymore.

Re: Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems

Yeah, but you advocate using the search feature all the time. The mods even posted the importance of using the search features in a thread specifically titled "for all people with under 150 posts." So I figured I would post that instead of retyping what I previously said.

But I will retype it when I have a little bit more time

Re: Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems

I found the problem! On the oil filter side of the block, inside of the block, right next to where the oil pan bolts up, there was supposed to be a bolt with a 17 mm head but it wasn't there. This is the h23 block so there are all sorts of holes where the oil squirters can be if you machine them through. So I overlooked them. So I pulled the bold from the stock and put it all back together and now at start up I have 90 psi, when it warms up I have 40 yippeee! Now I'm ready to make some sinister power.

Re: Help my sleeved block has oil pressure problems

hey... im glad you found the problem... but here is quick suggestion. your using a Tee off of the block for your feed and your gauge... well i notice tees usually dont last very long. what i did ... and this might also work. screw just the gauge sending unit in to the block. but for the turbo feel... there is an allen head screw on the head.. distributor side near the camseal. i think a 1/8 an fitting would fit there. this is just my own to sense and to hopefully save you some headaches.
