noob ? about engines

ok so what is the difference between the red top, black top and all the other top engines. i was looking at new engines online and people kept saying its a red top and so on. differences? performance? colors?

I think that the red valve cover is on the type S stock which is I believe 20 more horse power but (if im wrong tell me) thats just from the type s intake and exhaust...IDK about that though. but you have to be careful because you could easily paint the regular one red or buy one from ebay if you are lazy.

lol well im not going to buy any of them from people if i bought one i would get it from a company or build it my self (depending on whats going on). i was just wondering.
