Car shipping

Is it worth it??? Because I seriously cannot find a prelude within 250 miles of where I live.Ok so I can but none really suitable or matching what I want.(STOCK 5th gen...EITHER base or SH, and yes I know that the base is preferable...but i honestly dont think I'll be boosting my first lude...)( oh and if you hear of any ludes near fort walton beach florida hit me up XD) I really dont want to do this and ill wait it out till freaking july before I go absolutely nuts and actually do this, but has anyone had experience shipping cars? I mean I am literally searching CL daily and I'm starting to wonder if I'll ever come accross something in my area...Im really depressed I REALLY want a prelude sooo bad and its killin me cause I cant find one....Just checkin out my options here guys, dont flame me for the thought! lol. If its a bad idea, cool. But I've honestly never heard of anyone but dealerships using this method to get a hold of a car..just curious I guess...

I drove 7 hours to Pensacola for my Lude... If you can find one in the middle/ south Georgia area, I might can check it out for you before you took a trip to see it.

Thanks Si...I haven't even looked in the Georgia area. might expand my horizons a little =p I have family in the canton area so we could turned it into a trip to see family while im up there =D

Now as far as the shipping goes, I told ya. Im curious...that about covers it as I know its probaly too much hassle and money to be worth unless I really needed if I were moving or something...

Think about this,

Do you know how expensive it is to ship certain parts? Like I bought a 1 piece skidplate/bumper/pushbar combo bumper for my truck back in the day and it cost me like 200 for shipping for the fuccker. And it was only a few states away. Imagine shipping a whole car bro. Definitely not worth it.

Re: Car shipping

Listen,
Preludes are harder to find every day. I would advise using Autotrader and being open to a 500 mile search range. TRUST ME, it will be worth it if you do find one, even if its close to 10 hours away.

Re: Car shipping

I would say don't even bother. The cost of it is going to be over 1k and you really don't know anything about the car so ya could buy a lemon and be SON and be 1k in the hole. Take the money find a friend with a car that gets hella MPG, give him gas money beer(after of corse) and lots of beer jerky. Plane a trip wear you can hit like 5-6 cars and then check them all out.

Re: Car shipping

Shipping is worth it if you'd have to fly out somewhere just to pick up your car and drive it back. This maybe isn't the case for a short, one-way trip, but it definitely is for someone in your situation. I've done it before and used American Auto Transport. They did a pretty good job. You can check them out here.
