Kinda like a rev limiter. Stops your car at a certain RPM. For drag racing so they can hold her to the rug without having it tached out. I think you'd spin more the higher your R's are not sure if thats why they use it for draging. I'm sure someone more knowlegable can help you out not sure if this is right or not.

Re: 2-step ignition/rev???

its a revlimiter pretty much.
MSD has a 2 step...which you hold a button and it sets a rev limiter at whatever RPM you set it at. Then once you let go of the button, it goes to the actual rev limiter.
MSD uses an ignition cut.

Tuning programs have 2-step/launch control/Full throttle launch features. When the vehicle speed sensor reads 0mph, its rev limiter is set to the launch control RPM setting, then once your wheels start moving the rev limiter goes to whatever the higher rev limiter is. You can turn off the 2 step with the AC button on CROME.
CROME for exaple uses a fuel cut which is a little harsher on the engine because it cuts off fuel. But the stock honda rev limiter is a fuel cut also....
either way they work, and they're fun,

Re: 2-step ignition/rev???

What Shoof said.

A lot of the more serious drag racers use it so they don't over-rev during the burnout.
