iridium or platinum?

i know there are alot of spark plug threads and i looked through them but i'm just more confused now... i'm going servicing the type S at the weekend and i know i want NGK spark plugs, that's a given, but which are better, iridium or platinum?
i have heard some people giving out about the iridium ones saying that they break easily and stuff like that so i'm leaning towards the platinum ones but what do you guys think?

Please use punctuation marks as it is the difference between "I helped my friend, Jack, off a horse." and "I helped my friend jack off a horse."

Re: iridium or platinum?

I've been using bosch platinum 4's for about 4 years now and never had a problem. I know it's a different brand but I'd say platinum.

I heard a lot more ppl have problems with the iridium then the platinum. I would go with platinum.

Re: iridium or platinum?

As far as performance from what I hear silver is the best conductor os electricity. Nology and a couple others make silver electrode plugs. Personally I have iridium plugs. I can't imagine there really is that much difference. Iridium is a harder metal that will probably have more life than platinum. Just stick with single electrode plugs. The 2 and 4 pin grounds are not really worth anything because electricity will only take the path of least resistance. Not all 4 like the commercials make you think.

it's best to use oem spark plugs. it's the plug that best suits the engine. don't believe all that mumbo jumbo crap about spark plugs. just stick with OEM unless you're boosting or running higher compression then you'll want to consult with your tuner for the right plug for your build.
