Re: hmmmmm does vtec kick in reverse.....

i don't know.
1st and R usually have the same gear ratios.

on a stock computer, VTEC won't engage unless the wheels are spinning 20mph. Do you wanna do 20mph in reverse? I'm sure it would kick in, but you better hold on...cuz its essentially an S2000 that steers with the drive wheels, but ur facing the wrong way.
I've thought about it too, but i'm too much of a vagina to try it

i dont remember mine kicking in while in reverse. i was teaching a friend how to do a J-turn. which is the best thing about a FWD car.

I thought vtec kicks in due to oil pressure?

Read our helms manual, reverse won't cause vtec to kick in.

VTEC requires a few parameters before it kicks in....oil psi being 1, then there's coolant temp, VSS reading over 20mph and the rpm its programmed to actuate the VTEC solenoid

This is exactly why i don't wanna try it. I've seen that happen as well, and I bet on an open diff car, when vtec comes in, the wheel will jerk slightly, and its all down hill from there, unless your in an open ass parking lot

YES IT DOES

well the engine still spins the same way, so it'd be like hitting vtec in 1st gear, just with alot less control if something were to happen, like slightly jerking the steering wheel
