ok so this is a really n00bie type question but from what ive seen so far u guys are the ones who know whats up and how to explain it in non dealership talk.

so! i need to know some terminology...i have no idea the difference in the diff engine types. u know like the h22a and f22a1 or watever they are. i understand vtech now thanks to that one vid that is up but i still cant find any info about the engine types. and this subject is a bit too vague for teh search button is it not? thanks in advance for helpin out a newbie!

for the most power stock and to be raced occasionally/pretty often, H22.
for good gas mileage and power isn't of too much concern, F22.
the best of both worlds.... H23.

don't feel bad man. I'm pretty sure they mean boost. I'm not sure why but there is a constant theme of misspelling things here and that being cool... i just don't get it but whatever, and boost refers to turbo'ing or to a lesser extent supercharging. I say lesser cause...i don't think anyone supercharges a prelude.

don't worry, you've come to one of the best places to find info.

Re: complete noob question buuuut.

Ok first im suprised no one pointed it out. its vtec . not vtech. thats a phone company. Second the h22 is the most powerfull stock. the h23 is second but its non vtec. the f22 is a smaller engine that gets better gas milage.

i think no one pointed it out cause he's new and we have seen it hundreds of times before and no one gets up about it. at least i don't. I know i noticed it but i didn't care that much.

Why would nobody supercharge a Prelude??

I didn't know the difference until there now. I found this:

http://www.superchargersonline.com/content.asp?ID=19

Seems a turbo install is very complicated, while a supercharger can be pretty easy.

Why would more people not go for a Supercharger??

that and turbos are more efficent. Super chargers use power to make more power, the pulley is driven by the engine power to make more power,

turbos use exhaust gas to turn the turbine to make more power, in essences using a waste product to make more power for you.
