Re: ludes exhaust

hmm well the bigger the can the lower the tone im my 97 SH i got a 3 inch pipe all the way back no cat and no resenator and an old school apexi mufler with a (yes please dont flame on me for this) a DC sports header came with the car :) and when i am not on the gas its quiet but when i get on it sounds like a straight 6 and just growls (old V8 guys like my exhaust) this is the link on what the muffler is http://www.carreview.com/mfr/apex/ca...8_1580crx.aspx

Re: ludes exhaust

heres a guy who bought one his thoughts i mean

Price Paid: $350.00 from Autohaus motorsports

Year / Model Reviewed:
1996 Prelude Si

Summary:
This exhaust is way better than i ever hoped it would be...i got it for 350 installed so it was well worth the money considering that it was for the full cat back installed! i hoped that this exhaust would not be too loud and my wish came true...gives a nice purr at idle..you can barely hear it...but gets loud when u want it to be...id definitly recommend this to anyone looking for a great quality exhaust

Strengths:
agressive look...sound is amazingly DEEP...not loud and obnaxious by any means...has pure performance sound...HIGH QUALITY product...excellent craftsmenship...embossed tip looks tight...doesnt alter any emissions stuff too

Weaknesses:
tip is a little too big...but easily delt with...sound is VERY deep inside...i think its louder inside than it is outside...i havent really pushed it yet so i wouldnt know bout power gains...but as far as low end id like to see a lil more gains...

Similar Products Used:
stock exhaust...not as deep...but then again...no comparison...A''PEXi is way better by far...

Re: ludes exhaust

what i would do is just go onto youtube and look up brands of exhaust to find a note that you like cause the majority of them out there are the same just different noises

Re: ludes exhaust

custom make? buy a 70$ muffler, namebrand if you chose..go for bigger piping...what like 80-120$ for the bends and everything, either do a straight thru..or install a cat, up to you. and there you go! under 200 or about 200

Pretty hard to find a FULL exhaust system for $200 or less. You can find a good quality MUFFLER for $200 or less...

bumping your own thread within 1 hour of the last post(which was your own) is -

I'm gonna guess and ponder that YOU did not look at the 4th gen resource guide, riiiiiiiiight? http://preludezone.com/showthread.php?t=2975

There are exhaust clips and reviews you can read about...you are on the right track though, say no to melon shooter mufflers. Go for oval-type mufflers.
