Painting hubcap DIY?

I want to murder out my prelude haha

I wasnt sure it i should just take off all the hubcaps or just paint them black

Opinions?

FYI: Too poor to buy black rims haha

or i might end up going gold and black....

either way id like to know how to paint the hubcaps

Thats what I used to spruce up the hubcaps on my subaru about 6 months ago, still looks just fine. The paint had worn off on about 1/2 of each of them. Just make sure to sand first or else the paint wont last very long.

Sorry to be so blunt my new friend but you have to PAY to PLAY.

...please dont paint your hubcaps. DONT be that guy people point at while you drive down the block. Painted hubcaps is in poor taste. But, it's your car, your choices, you do what you please. :noidea:
Learn how to search for good deals. You can find great deals from people selling their old rims if you show patience & know where to look.

Re: Painting hubcap DIY?

Hey bud didnt mean to hurt any feelings. Yeah 300 buck can be alot of money at times so I hear ya on that. I have painted ALOT of wheels in the past. The best paint for the job is that duplicolor wheel paint, or you could just use the duplicolor at like any autozone or advanced auto parts. just get a scuff pad first to make sure the paint will stick to the plastic, dont forget to use a ton of clear coat for that shine!!! also it helps keep the paint from chippin. BUT!!! If I were you.........Id take the caps off and scuff down the steelies and paint them some sick ass color. like if your car is black or dark color paint the rims RED!!! trust me ive seen it it looks nice

Re: Painting hubcap DIY?

Try being unemployed in england during the credit crunch if you want to see how being poor is, ive not worked in 4 months now but use your head...

ask about, im sure there are tons of alloy wheels sitting in peoples garages you can buy for $50 or something, i got a set of 17" 5 spokes last year for 70, i spent another 25 on paint and filler and sandpaper and taught myself how to refurb alloys

just a thought, we have all been poor but there are a million bargains out there
