Re: RUST!!!!

Umm...nothing you can really do...unless you wanna go so far as to spray it with rustoleum (obviously the same color as your car)...Otherwise, its gonna need a new trunk lid.
Could be a good excuse to go CF! but only if you have, or are planning on getting a CF hood to match.

Personally, I would just upgrade to a CF deck. A CF one is probably cheaper than a brand new OEM one.

Re: RUST!!!!

lol you dont gotta cut anything for just a tiny bit of surface rust...the proper way is to take it to a body shop..unless you have all the tools, stock color paint, primer, other chemicals, and knowledge of body work

Imo body work and tuning are the two things that should always be left to the experts unless you've had LOTS of practice.

auctally back when i was a junior in high school i had a autobody repair class, i did a report on phosperic acid. the **** is nasty and it is found in coke, It will remove rust so imagin what its doing to your stomace.
(dont drink coke for a few months and drink a coke, you can taste that acid in your mouth)

check out this for removing rust,
http://www.metalwebnews.com/howto/rust/rust.html

no matter how you remove the rust your still going need to apply a body filler to fill the low spot where the paint and rust was then your going to have to snad and prime. there is a good filler to prevent rust, all metal!!!!!! (alimimum) **** is expensive and dosnt rust. and unlike bondo it dosnt bubble (bondo bubbles because there is Talc, Talc is the main ingreedant found gold bond or baby powder it abosobs water.)

Coke comes in aluminum cans... so i dont think mixing aluminum foil + coke will do anything different than normal coke

BUT... if you wanna disolve aluminum.. mix a little bath of lye crystals and water. any aluminum parts that find their way in will dissappear after a few hours.

as far as rust removing... I used the jelly rust remover. Just put some on with a toothbrush and let it sit a while... rinse and repeat until its all gone. then:
seal it
paint it
clear it
dry it
wax it
work it
melt
upgrade it

daft punk anyone?

^^ actualy the coke never touches any metal. It is sealed in a thin layer of plastic, if they didnt do that then you would be drinking aluminum

Re: RUST!!!!

I LOVE drinking aluminum.

I woudl advise just getting a CF trunk, but you'd probably wanna do away with the spoiler, cuz CF trunk + factory color spoiler = flat chesticles. CF hood + CF trunk = tiggle bitties!

it isnt just one way to fix it if i recall it gives many ways so pick the cheapest or easiest one that you would think will work

yeah theres like a clear coat around it but also know that our car isnt made out of alimumn (NSX are all alum from the motor to the frame) it is steal the chemical reaction with water (yes water is an acid its just a nutural acid with a low PH) and other acids varies between the 2 metals. the 2 reasons cars dont rust as fast is because of clear coat and primer. self etching primer is full of zink witch covers the metal preventing the penetration of water to the metal.
