My rear seats are weeeeeeet

I never really noticed that my rear seats are soaked after it rains, until my friend was sitting back there the other night and was complaining about ass juice. I know that my trunk weather stripping is rusting falling apart and needs to be replaced, so that could be the first problem, but are there any other reasons why my rear seats keep getting soaked???:tsk:

Re: My rear seats are wet

hahaha ass juice....fix your trunk seal... or your rear window might be leaking...soak it with a hose and see if water gets through. The rear seats are easy to get out so if you feel like it one day take em out and see if there is a stream anywhere.

The weather stripping on my trunk is fugged up too dood, but I don't get water in the backseat. Just in the trunk with all my valuable electronic devices lol.

I'd go with leaky trunk, you said the moonroofs sealed so its not that... Check rear windshield too...

and yeah, stop peeing in the back seats... : D

Re: My rear seats are wet

Ok here goes my first post. I have a 93 lude and had this problem when a gallon of detergent in my trunk spilled.
When liquid gets in the trunk, under hard braking or downhill travel it goes forward under ur backseats. u wont notice it untill someone sits on it cause it only soaks to the top of the foam when pressure is applied to the seat.

hope this helps!

Re: My rear seats are wet

Nah i have a 3rd gen ; Its my first car bought it in October :D , and the guy didnt replace the antennae so its just a hole and the seal is lose on it. and the tube was also disconnected from sunroof drainage. i unplgged most of the holes and covered my car so the water can get out. When i get a new job ill try and work my way to a 4th gen or 5th :D

Re: My rear seats are wet

I have the same problem. I think the water has been in the trunk for a little while, since my spare tire lug nut is rusted on. Going to get me some bolt cutters today to cut out the metal plate that holds that tire on to get out the water.

I noticed that my tail lights have water in them, so im guessing the gasket is going out. Havent checked the anntena hole, so that is next on my hitlist.

Where is this sunroof drain pipe. Can someone point it out to me so i can can run air though it to see if its clogged?

Thanks.

Re: My rear seats are wet

Open your trunk , take out the right side pannel and its near the antennae area. its a plug that just goes into the right side of the trunk side that leads to under the wheel.

Re: My rear seats are wet

I had the same problem when I first bought my car. (5th gen) To begin with, i took an air hose to the sun roof drains, tons of crud came out. Next I used permetex ultra black on the tail light gaskets (definitely sealed now) and lastly I drilled a hole in the spare tire cavity, and put a one way valve in. So now even if it DID leak into the trunk, no wet seats, and it never collects into a pool.
