1997 Perlude 5 speed man trans trouble....Help

1997 base Prelude, 108K miles
I drive it like a pussy most of the time looking to get the best milage possible.

It was shifting really ruff about a month ago. I discovered the clutch master was leaking so I replaced it and everything worked great. Then all of the sudden it started to become hard to shift between gears. It's like the cluch isn't disengaging when I push the pedal to the floor. I drove it a few miles musseling it through the gears and then it started shifting smooth as butter again. This has been happing on and off for a couple of weeks. The slave cyclinder appears to be ok, meaning it is dry around the boot.

Now when I push the cultch pedal it feels hard to push and it just wont work anymore.

It sounds like a pressure plate problem?

I recently had a differential problem and my mechanic said my clutch/pressure plate/flywheel was screwed as well so i needed replacement. At the time my clutch pedal was really stiff and hard to push down and sometimes going into second and third would be a pain as well. Now its soft and use so much less force than before.

Well just basing my experience to give you some kind of help. I been through a lot of **** with this car.

Thanks for your input. I was thinking something like that was going wrong. I talked with a Honda Tech that I know and he said it could be a broken spring in the pressure plate or maybe even in the clucth disc it self. What about the throw out bearing, could that be part of the trouble? The only way to know 100% is to pull it all apart, AUGH. Being out of work sucks. However I can get the factory parts [clutch disc, pressure plate and T/O bearing] for about $115.00 total plus tax but the Honda tech I know is out on a workers comp claim {back injury} however he said his brother in-law has a lift in his garage and might cut me a deal on the labor if I supply the parts.

Do you guys know of any other parts I"ll need for the clutch install? I mean things like exhaust donut gaskets, cause to me it looks like the header might have to be removed to get the trans out.

Thanks again for all your current and future responces,

DM
