Axle back piping

Hey all,

So the dumb chick that sold me my cat back didn't know crap about it and told me that the system was 2.5" all the way back. Well guess what, it wasn't. The mid-pipe was 60mm (that's fine) but the axle back is 2". This isn't good obviously cause that would be a big bottleneck in my system, and I don't wanna do that. I took it into a muffler/performance car part shop and asked em if they could do anything, but no luck there.

So... I found a muffler that I like that has the correct piping size, but it's just the muffler, so I need some help with getting the correct piping. Do any of you know where I could get the correct axle-back piping? Can I just use a straight 2.5" pipe from the mid-pipe? Any good websites to browse? I searched with no luck and I was hoping one of you had some suggestions.

Re: Axle back piping

Any reasonable exhaust shop should be able to weld it up, provided you can explain exactly what you want.

Re: Axle back piping

If your able to find a pipe that will be compatible you will be better off. If not like colin said any exhaust shop should be able to do the work without a problem. The reason i say try to find it rather than made is because you are better off with mandrel cent rising dr optimal flow and lowest resistance. Most shops will use your standard rise bender. This is fine but mandrel cent is always best. Good luck alex. Keep up posted...

Re: Axle back piping

I'd really like to keep the dual tip look of the prelude. I want the tips bigger than stock, but I think the dual tips have such a clean look to them.

I have a place that I'm going to check out here when I get a little free time, and I know they can do mandrel bending. I'll see what that would cost, and if it's ridiculous then I'll just have a muffler shop weld it up for me. Either that or I have a buddy that has a dual tip exhaust that he said worked on his lude. He's checking the piping on it for me soon.

Setbacks = gaaaaayyy
