Is This Ebay Item Good??

Tried to fix my Fuel Pressure Regulator and ended up braking it more.
Now theres fuel leaking out from the side.

```so seeing some AEM and other leading brands of Fuel Pressure Regulators but they are all over $150 bucks!!!
anyways,,... whats the difference if i buy one like this??
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/BLUE-...mZ270294572583
````would cheap ones like these work the same ?? and it comes with a guage.
as long as it works right?

Re: Is This Ebay Item Good??

i would stay away from that FPR my friend. there is a reason why an AEM and B&M are over $130 and that one is $18. it is a piece of garbage. granted you are buying a big name w/ the other too but you are also paying for the engineering that went into designing the product.

STAY AWAY!!!

Re: Is This Ebay Item Good??

"made in china" never tested.

its also probably very small, notice how they dont list any rough dimensions or show a picture of it compared to a common object

also take into account the bad grammar in the listing lol.

"you will not find better deal else where"
it should be
"you will not find a better deal else where"
or
"you will not find better deals else where"

Re: Is This Ebay Item Good??

oh yhea i notice.. i know for sure that if i buy a brand name well over $100 i wont have to worry about the performance. but $18 for a FPR with gauge and brand new is tempting.

/// Tempting because im low on cash for now and my Lude is down. why is it so cheap?? maybe it really is a piece of garbage. probably wont be able to hold the fuel pressure long before it starts leaking and breaking down.

///Have anyone bought one of these cheap stuff and test it to compare to leading brands.

Re: Is This Ebay Item Good??

You know, I actually just got my Honda Tuning Mag in today, and there was an excellent article about this very situation (not trying to bash anyone), but I think everybody should read it. And I can't find it out on the web yet, and I don't really want to type it out. So, to summarize basically, the knock off- industry is taking over because people are buying cheap stuff. Well, big name companies have put alot of R&D into there products. That's why they're so expensive. But when knock off companies get a hold of that product design it usually means cheaper quality of materials used, and cheaper production methods to produce a poor product that is cheap to you. But what you get is something that is not tested and guaranteed to perform well. And what happens is that the big name companies can't sell enough product and then they have to go bankrupt (like Trust Co. Ltd.) and these knock-off companies have nothing else to "copy" because of their lack of care for the consumer. Obviously, this is an extreme, but it does happen.

[/rant]

I guess, what I'm trying to say is that even if you have to save up for one more week to get that "xxxx" namebrand product, it'll be worth it knowing that it has been tested and researched and carefully put together so that you can rely on your car's upmost performance. Sorry for the book guys...hope it was somewhat helpful.

And I am in no way trying to scold or bash anyone. It's all said out of concern for our performance industry and the quality of their products, and most of all for our car's sake.

But I might add though, that they are some circumstances where cheaper isn't always neccesarily a bad product, just not as good of results. I say that because I have a megan racing header. There's always exceptions but the general rule still stands.

^^^ Didn't you hear what juniorlude said? Stay away from OBX, they're in the same boat. Take it from someone who went the cheap OBX way, they're not to be trusted.

Re: Is This Ebay Item Good??

Don't buy OBX ****. I've never had good luck with it. And yeah, that article in the new HT is sad but true. The "big name" companies do these things called "R&D" and "Quality Control." To quote the article "After that, a good company's products will undergo some sort of quality control. This means that they actually check to make sure that the part they're going to sell you won't fail, hurt you or your car, or kill you." Spend the extra money and buy quality parts, and keep the performance industry alive. Please.
