H22a /a1 /0r a4?

IF i remember correctly, my h23 harness is reusable with the swap as long as i use an h22a or h22a1, b/c it's obd1. But my pakcage deal comes with a new harness and ecu, so could i theoretically use an a4 ??

Re: H22a /a1 /0r a4?

if your swapping in a h22... your better off w/ jdm h22a ... first off its obd1 and it has more potential ..ex closed deck block. therefor the only major wiring issue would be the vtec wiring. you would have to run wire from the vtec selonoid to the ecu. that should be the only set back... easy though.

Get an H22a8, but yeah keep it all obd1, and i think either on this site or cb7tuner, there is a link that gives you the ecu wiring charts. and the wiring charts for the VSMACK

Re: H22a /a1 /0r a4?

Got my motor in yesterday. I ordered it from torontojdm.com. The service was great and the product was delivered as described. Definitely will recommend. I got a jdm h22a.

The 96 H22A1 was OBD2. Just clarifying. Congrats on the JDM H22 though man. How much did you pay for that bad bear?

I paid $2350 shipped for the motor, lsd tranny, ecu, axles, mounts, and wiring harness.

Re: H22a /a1 /0r a4?

*Swap Update* - I FINALLY got my timing kit and water pump in today and progress has begun on getting the motor ready to put in the car. This has taken about 3 times as long as i thought it would. I haven't driven my car since october third. Yeah. But vtec power is coming soon. Does anyone know if a catback for a 93 vtec lude will fit on my 92?

Re: H22a /a1 /0r a4?

Make a progress thread and take pictures for everyone. I'm glad you ordered from toronto JDM. Thats who I was planning on ordering mine from (down the road) and I'm glad you recommend them.

The cat back should fit, though I'm not 100% sure. Worst case scenario is it doesnt fit, and you drive to the local exhaust shop.

My only question to you is, why did it matter if the h23 harness fit the h22?? You got a new harness anyway

And that was a bangin deal.

Re: H22a /a1 /0r a4?

Because of the in-car harness. The one that runs into the firewall. But yeah that one connects to the h22 anyway.
