Should I supercharge?

So I'm stuck with the decision of whether or not to supercharge my H22 soon. Incase you havent heard the story of my car yet, I have an 86 prelude which had a carbd 1.8L in it, and I've swapped in a 98 h22 engine. Now it's pretty much stock rite now besides the dc sports header, but once I've driven it for a bit I'm gunna put in new cams and a new flywheel and a few other things - one of which possibly being a supercharger. My only problem with this is that it will eliminate the v-tec. So my question is, is it worth it for the power gain and what i'll get out of it?

Let me know what u think

I'm not to sure yet, it will be a good one if I decide to do it tho. I wont take the chance of sacrficing quality to save a buck cuz that'll probly just lead to more problems.

Re: Should I supercharge?

wtffff
i'm sofa king confused righit now

since when do H22's fit into 2nd gens???
i've never in my life heard of that!

but judging by the pics in your album, i think you still got more work ahead of you to get that thing running and on the road in the first place.
than if/when you do get her running and you see how well an H22 responds to such a light chassis such as the 2nd gen, you won't be needing anymore power, at least for awhile.

Re: Should I supercharge?

^ditto... and I agree with twokexlv6coupe, get it out there, drive it a while, and then decide what to do... I think it will be a lot of fun without much help... I know the Jackson Racing supercharger won't go into the 4th gen without raping the firewall.

Re: Should I supercharge?

from the JR site
Prelude owners can have the best of all worlds - lots of engine displacement, VTEC technology and JR's top-of-the-line supercharger system. With a handful of standard performance upgrades, this combination will put almost 235hp to the pavement. Like all Jackson Racing supercharger systems, the Prelude system has been tuned to deliver outstanding performance while meeting all emissions and operating in various climate conditions on premium pump fuel. By adding JR's new VPAC, a VTEC controller that allows you to adjust VTEC activation from 2,500-6,000rpm with a knob from inside the car, the power curve can be adjusted to suit your driving style. With almost 200ft. lbs. of torque on tap the toughest part will be getting all of the power to the ground. C.A.R.B. # D-344-8.

and I heard from a few places with a pully up grade a few other added parts 250hp can be done

As light as the car is idk if u would really want over 235hp any way(ok ya everyone would) but i think the sc would be a lil more trubble free but if u put a h22 in a 86 not to worrier about that so really see what one would be cheaper to do.

I highly dought that. The reason most ppl go with turbo is b/c 1 a sc wont even fit 2 sometimes cheaper or about the same and you can get more power latter if u deiced to build the engine to take it. I will say that for most ppl if a sc will fit in the car it's all the really need .
