Icon5 weird shaking...

over the past week i've noticed a shake when i accelerate but it only happens in 2nd and 3rd gear and it happens all the time!
does anyone have any idea what could be wrong, i'm thinking it's the gearbox...

Re: weird shaking...

shaking??? do you feel it in the steering wheel? or the entire car? if it was your gear box it would be grinding not shaking. couple things that would cause a shake while accelerating tires unbalanced, broken axles, broken wheel bearing, broke tie rod, or even broken ball joint. i would check those first. hope this helps

Re: weird shaking...

no it's not in the steering it's the whole car, i've never heard of it happening anyone before it's really weird but i'm hoping it's the track rod end because i had to replace them and one of the parts i got was wrong so i had to send it back and i'm waiting on another one. i must inspect the car properly during the week

Re: weird shaking...

I'm havin the same problem.

On some days I'm as smooth as can be. Other days It's very, very rough. I had my wheels balanced, my PSI is good on all tires.

It's my wheel and my gas pedal I feel shake/shimmy. Like I said though sometimes it's as smooth as can be. maybe 2/10.

Also when I hit bumps. I feel my car swing out. Help?!

Re: weird shaking...

mine seems different to yours though because mine happens all the time and it's the whole car, not the steering wheel but have you inspected the atual tyres on your car because there could be a bulge on one of them or something like that, it's worth checking anyway

sounds like your shocks are blown ...or you endlinks to your swaybar are broken.

That's the reason for the "swinging out" right?

I gave my car a couple pushes on the front and rear. It only bounced twice so I think the shocks are still good.

But I think the "wheel shimmy" [which is like a left to right kinda vibration] could be from the locking nuts I have on the stock wheels? Could that be it?

Cause they are smaller then the OEM lug holes.
