Getting up an oil stain

Long story short, changed my oil and the drop cloth I was using wasn't solid like I thought it was. A bit of oil seeped through it when I was changing the filter and left a nice square foot stain on my driveway. I've put a good bit of simple green on it to help prevent it soaking in. I'm thinking Muriatic acid and a pressure washer to get it all up?

Any ideas PZ?

Re: Getting up an oil stain

eh just leave it, it will happen again!! oh and drop cloths FTL... CARDBOARD FTMFW!!!!

but as for how to get it up, if it was still fresh and you have a smooth concrete drive way then i would say brake parts cleaner and a rag, if you have a rough driveway then hit it with some purple power and a pressure washer and it should get it up

Re: Getting up an oil stain

^I've seen his driveway and helped him coat it with oil as well lol!!

I hate oil spots myself... Autozone sells this material called, "Driveway cleaner." That stuff works wonders.
If you cant find that, think about spray painting the oil spots to the same color as the driveway. That could work too...

Re: Getting up an oil stain

if you rub the simple green in with a brush then pressure wash it then it should come up, usually works for me. my dad makes me pressure wash the driveway regularly bc i get it so dirty.

Re: Getting up an oil stain

^^^ Pressure washer helped lift some of it, but Oxyclean really got a lot up.

Re: Getting up an oil stain

try going to home depot and get this stuff called "industrial purple" I used to work in a warehouse cleaning commercial fryers and ovens and stoves, and that thing turns animal fat into liquid. I'm not joking. I havent tried it on oil, but a lot of people put kitty litter down, usually it pulls some of it out.

and I know someone up there said it, but just put cardboard under you next time

EDIT*
Didnt read your last post about getting it up.
Oxyclean eh?
Maybe I'll try that sometime on some rough stains. I thought only that guy that sold the simoniz or w/e sold it. Like E posted that video about punchin someone in the face. ya know? Do they sell it in stores now?

Re: Getting up an oil stain

Yeah, it's not too hard to find it in a store. It didn't get it all up, but it helped a lot.

Staight gasoline is the best way. Soak it in, spray it off.
