Do I need to buy end links?

Hey fellas, I just bought an ST rear sway bar. Do I need to buy new endlinks? If so do you guys have any good suggestions? Gracias.

Re: Do I need to buy end links?

not necessarily. the ST bar isn't that strong to require new endlinks. i've yet to hear about anyone bending stock endlinks on and ST bar. however, if you feel its necessary, 71DSP on preludeonline.com (among other sites, not this one) custom makes them and they are rather expensive.... probably more then what you paid for the bar. i bought a set myself and i am very happy. i will make one suggestion of who NOT to go with, and that is the progress endlinks. i could **** a better endlink. their bar however... best that money can buy.

question though... have you installed the ST bar yet? depending on the age of your endlinks, you might need new ones from honda at least, which are rather reasonable compared to 71DSP.... when i did mine, the nuts were a pain in the ass to take off, i damn near had to cut my endlinks off the nuts were rusted so bad. not even liquid wrenches helped.

Re: Do I need to buy end links?

wasn't so much ripped from the chassis. just snapped the support bracket. that was with the progress bar. and i think it was because of the multitude of installation instructions i found. i followed the wrong one.

yea make sure when you install the bar, if you haven't already. simulate the car on the ground. by that i mean, take off the back wheels with the car in the air and lower the car so that the back suspension sits on some jack stands. and if you can have someone sit in the driver seat. if not, go back and redo it. it helps if the front is on some jack stands to, or at least lifted, so that he weight distribution is even front to back as well, surprisingly it makes a difference. just basically get the car to sit as close as you can to match how it would sit on the ground.
