Garage Forum?

I was sitting back thinking about who hear does their own work. Kinda wondering what everyone garages or "work spaces"looks like. This got me thinking about it. What about a garage forum. Not only would you post up pics of your garage/workspace, but it could also be used to give advice on tools/reviews of tools(hand/air tools) and things that made doing a certain job easier, to further the helping attitude of the site. What does everyone think? Am I just crazy?

I do mechanical as I am a tech at a honda dealership. Personally I use craftsman hand tools/ some power tools(my dremel is one of the best) and also use Mac hand tools. I also use mac air tools as well as craftsman, IR, and snap-op(rather blue point). I also like gear wrench. Since I still live with my parents my garage sucks, but i do most of my work on my rack at the dealership.

Re: Garage Forum?

we have a 30x50 steel shop in the backyard where i do all my work, my dad has his corner and i have my corner, he stays out of my tool boxes and i stay out of his thats the agreement that we have, but i have a craftsman toolbox, (floor box, mid shelf, and topshelf) but i have a side cabinet on the way for it because i'm out of room in it, but most of my hand tools are craftsman because i have a problem with breaking them and you can't beat just runnin down to sears and trading out tools, most of my air tools are Ingersol Rand, i have one snap on impact but it's still a IR gun just with snap ons logo, i have gearwrench gear wrenches then Duralast flex head gear wrenches all duralast impact sockets which are made by mac then o.e.m. 32,34 and 36mm axle sockets, galaxy 1/2" digital tourque wrench and snap on 3/8" standard tourque wrench... theres a lot more i have a tool fetish or something...

Re: Garage Forum?

Send me over a pic of the damage it mihgt be repairable. Also your best bet witch is sad to say is a junk yard or someone thats parting theres out. Also note you have to drill all the welds that hold the quarte on and find a good splicing point, most likely in the pillar and you need to weld it back up.

Verry nice gunnns!!! Sata is a little cheaper but iwata is TOP OF THE LINE!! No joke guys
super expensive, atre you looking to sell your sata?
You should just patch the rear quaters, i had russt and made a little inster to slip in and cover the rust then tacked it up and put all metal over it.

Def do NOT want to sell my sata. Got a awesome deal on it through school and will hopefully get a better deal on the IWATA.

I just love how small the IWATA is, because i have small hands and it fits in it perfectly. Its also so quiet while it sprays.

FTW

Re: Garage Forum?

This is my work space and notice the blue point box in the back FULL of tools mostly body tools but a lot of other tools. Thats Toms mine is still at my parents and I need to bring it over, Along with those tools is a Lincoln 220 mig welder and too much paint to even think. Also the accumulator attached to the hard lines that go to a 60gallon compressor.

Re: Garage Forum?

ohhh man i wanted a job at 15 years old, my dad worked at a body shop in amsterdam ny, privately owned, i was hired as a handy kid for like 20 hours a week. My dad put bondo on the car and told me and another guy to sand it. Well the other guy was a burn out and sanded the bondo right off, i had almsot a prefect sand, then from there i learnd form my dad, been doing it senice he was a kid and i can say the same. I love him to death and we work all the time together, i go to his work on the weekends to give him a hand and when i need work down on my lude he'll help me. We used to by totaled cars and repair them, I learned how to use the laser system and frame rack pretty well. So thata baislcy how. I learned about it in high school for a year but this is how it went 3 kids, Me, Chris Litz and Mike K all did our work and got A's in the class while every one else ****ed around so i didnt learn much but thats where i learned to paint.
BTW im now 19 so 4 years exp with body work.

Iwata's top gun back 4 years ago was 900 so if it droped im sorry but there still pricey, I work out of a real body shop with 24 bays (cogin honda) or my garage

Re: Garage Forum?

haha thanks and it was on my photobucket.

I also didn't mention I started doing body work when I was younger like 5 because my g-pa was big into it. Went to a university majoring in Mathematics and Dance, decided I didn't wanna do that then got my associates for Auto collision and been doing it ever since. Love it and wouldn't do anything else, besides one thing.
