b20a5 in an integra?

I know it doesnt swap right in but does anyone know where I can find a write up on it? I searched on honda-tech but no luck.

Or just a thread on someone doing it?

Re: b20a5 in an integra?

No I was just thinking that I have never seen that in anything but a prelude but it makes sense because it doesnt bolt up to anything but a prelude. I wanna do something different with the hatch.

Re: b20a5 in an integra?

this is the best i could find, sorry - i skimmed it but it doesn't look like there is anything for the B20 motor because they say it's the "bastard" motor of the B series motors and wont fit.

Re: b20a5 in an integra?

found this too - more people saying it wont work and that it shouldnt be swapped - the guy is kind of a jerk about it, lol

"they should stay in the Prelude or in a junkyard..."

Re: b20a5 in an integra?

found this one - seems to be alot more helpful, at least in saying it can work, but idk if they are talking about the same motor, that's the problem, lol. They say B20a, but no B20a5...

take a look

Re: b20a5 in an integra?

I think that it would be badass to have the swap completed - it would be the most unique civic, that's for sure.

On the other hand, it would be slow but we own Preludes - we are used to being slow, haha

Although interesting and worth high points in "weird looks," that's not a good swap to do. Too much money invested for custom motor mounts, getting the transmission to work and fit, new axles...the list goes on for a motor that is nearly 20+ years old --and limited on HP.
I saw a pic a long time ago on hondaprelude.com(RIP) that had a CRX with a b20a5 motor in it at a drag strip. That was before the h22. of course.

I hear you though. You want to be different. If i had a Integra shell, this is what i would do (<----former Integra owner):

b20b/b16 hybrid aka CRVTEC mated to a GSR tranny & tune = spank hard.:caked:

Re: b20a5 in an integra?

b20a5's work very WELL with boost and can hold a lot on the stock block especially with the thicker iron sleeves.

I like it when people post my opinions before I get a chance to.

What's more, it's been done a few times (not a lot, but a few) and stuff can be bought. SO you lose a lot of the uniqueness, but what you lose in that you gain in the budget. Ie more $$$ can be spent on making power, not making things fit.

Huh?

The d15 or anything out of a civic works just as good with boost as the b20A5 and is much easier to find.. Hell, any of the other B series too... Plus, its not going to cost you an arm and a leg to shoe horn in there.

I honestly dont see how this could be a good idea and I own a 3rd gen...

The B20A5 is not an ideal motor for anything in all honesty. It works great in the car it was designed for, but is not a good idea for a swap by any means... Theres better motors out there for cheaper. Plus, those fit w/o serious modifications or wads of cash. Might be why finding info has come up so short...

Yeah there might be better motors but I dont want those motors. When I do things, I do things my way, because its my money.

I have seen quite a few boosted A5's that have been on stock internals spyking nearly 20psi with no problems at all and room for more.

wtf why cant we type s piking?

I dont try to be faster than anyone because there is ALWAYS someone faster but I try to be different than most.
