Exhaust Leak

What's the best way to DIY to find an exhaust leak, or several exhaust leaks?

Re: Exhaust Leak

Put the car on a hoist with the engine running, and put a canary in a cage, and slowly run the cage along the exhaust. When the canary falls off it's perch you know you're in the right area.

Sorry I can't come up with a sensible answer

Re: Exhaust Leak

turn your car on...run your hand along the entire exhaust. you'll more than likely feel where the leak is

Re: Exhaust Leak

^^^^ yeah there really isnt a special way to hunt for exhaust leaks although brash's was the most creative. To be honest man you just have to Look Listen and Feel for those leaks. Just try hunting them down listening for them and trying to feel where they are coming from. Look for rusted or rough and dented spots, loose bolts and rotted gaskets as these may be indicators of where the leak is coming from.

Aside from that exhaust work sucks period

Re: Exhaust Leak

Buy a new exhaust and sometimes and exhaust sounds like a click click click like a valve but in stead of going faster when you get on the gas it stays the same
