Squeaking Springs

I have a Tein Flex Master kit and the rear springs squeak like nobodies business. I put the rubber silencers on but now the squeaking just sounds more rubbery.

Two things, 1. Is this normal? 2. Is there anything I can do about it? I'm sure dynamat would help some but that's the only thing I can think of.

Off topic. Is there any way to make the ride softer, other than using the EDFC? Can adjusting the preload help?

Re: Squeaking Springs

I was able to get my springs to stop squeaking, how you ask? It was easy, I just drove six miles one way off-roading. I didn't go out of my way to do this of course, I went and climbed a 14er the other weekend, and BOOM problem solved.

The ride is still horrible though, Colorado has the worst roads I have ever driven on. Any ideas on how to take care of this? This is really driving me insane. Basically, I want my suspension and wheels to move but not my car. I have the EDFC set to 16 and it definitely does not feel softer than stock (8).

Please help me.

Re: Squeaking Springs

Have these forums slowed down alot? I'm in the process of buying a home and so my priorities have changed, so I haven't been here in a while. But it seems that had I asked this question a few months ago it would have been answered immediatley.

Re: Squeaking Springs

I just found your post by mistake...

I had some issues and changed to polyurethane bushings, but that will just make the ride stiffer... I would assume any tein kit would have higher spring rates than stock and give a rougher ride.

forums are doing pretty good, don't know how you got missed..

Re: Squeaking Springs

I said I wanted a softer ride since the ride is so rough.

Re: Squeaking Springs

Yes, I know... bad bushings can cause problems that don't seem bushing related... but that aside, I actually did say bushings would make it stiffer... that is why I also said...

I know of absolutely no aftermarket spring that has a lower spring rate than stock... if you are riding on teins; I guarantee they are stiffer than stock; someone feel free to prove me wrong... I don't know what else to tell you... sorry

you can always cut the stock springs.......

kidding, no one blister me please.
