Re: To the guy planing on the 700whp Prelude

Bad news is he took it to the track and hit 36psi and may have done some bad stuff. He has a fuel pressure issue to be maxxing out those 1600cc injectors that soon. Ive seen 988whp out of 1600cc injectors and we mentioned something to him on Honda-tech about it. His fuel pump is probably his limiting factor as of right now.

F20b block and H22 head = rev happy fun... Hopefully it will eventually perform great for all the time and money invested in it. His first motor dates back to 2k2...

Wouldn't sleeving the H22 be just as good as the F20B block?

Its not the block thats the big deal, although bore differences are interesting.. Its the stroke that is what we are concerned with here. Having so little stroke tends to lead to a motor being more rev happy than the h22. Theres only a few H22s making power above 8500rpms... Most built motors are struggling to maintain it or losing power already even by those rpms.

But, the answer to your questioin is essentially yes...

I didn't even consider that, something I should know, since the F20 is basically a iron sleeved, debored, less torquey H22.

Why? Its a 88mm stroked motor pushing HP out well past 9krpms...

Im going to simplify it a bit for ya..

When refering to cars power output.

HP= Tq(ftlbs) x RPM
. . . . . 5252

If a car makes its peak TQ at 8000rpms because its running a massive late spooling turbo, a smaller stroke than the h22 even, and good flowing head such as XES' car.. Its starts looking pretty obvious why the HP number becomes so BIG while the TQ seems a bit smaller. It seems a bit more obvious looking at that simple formula and the graph now huh?

Re: To the guy planing on the 700whp Prelude

C6 ZO6 Stock rev = 7,000rpm. Watch out imports. Americans are starting to rev higher and higher. And thats a Push rod motor. Not even a DOHC.

Anyway. I was expecting more torque also. Considering i made made the same amount of torque and the lower HP level, but when he mad 779hp he didnt make any more torque at all.

Re: To the guy planing on the 700whp Prelude

^ I've seen a good few civics w/ 700-900hp that only put down torque in the 400s.

Re: To the guy planing on the 700whp Prelude

Yea well you wouldnt want much torque with a light FWD car anyways. Then you would just have excessive tire spin.
