painting valve cover pt 2

well i painted my valve cover silver a couple of months ago. everything was fine until i clear coated it. what i didnt realize was that the clear coat had ceramic in it and it messed up the results. so now i want to repaint it. my car is silver and im thinking about the vc purple with a carbon kevlar spark plug cover. this is exactly how i want the vc to look.

http://www.superstreetonline.com/fea.../photo_10.html

i know how to paint the vc but does any 1 have any tips. i just want to make sure i can do the best job possible so i can get the best results. i want a proffesional finish(please dont say take it to a proffesional)

I liek the vc purple a lot different then silver, red and black most ppl have but still look sweet. Sand it down clean it up spray on a few layers maybe sand the last few with i high grit sand paper.

Re: painting valve cover pt 2

i acctually just bought some paint for my valve cover. its blue and its made to be applied on shiny bare metal. its called anodizer or something like that. its made to look like blue anodized and before i tried it on my valve cover i shined up some metal and sprayed it on it looks just like powder coating.
