I think it is about as cheap to build an h22a to get that power... I imagine if you put a couple grand in cams and valve train work (and red paint for the VC) you could out perform that engine...
I guess the type s did have a nicer header, and maybe intake manifold... but you could def. do a lot of work for the price difference. :) ... that difference in compression ratio is what sets it apart from the stock h22

The Type S has 11:1 compression, different cams, different tuning, different intake and I'm pretty sure it has a different throttle body as well.

So would I. Also consider that the Type S engine won't bolt straight up to anything without the ATTS gearbox. Sure it can be bolted to a regular box, but requires a lot more work. Too hard.
