Green Air Filters WTF???

http://www.autoanything.com/air-filt...0A1966359.aspx

Who has heard of these things???

I'm doing my research as we speak and from what I see, they have a bit better airflow than a K&N Drop In.

An air filter can only do so much. Anything they've come up with was copied from K&N or someone else whose been around a long time. I'll keep my K&N though.

I've got a Type-S on order right now and I'm putting a K&N Drop filter in it. Hurray for dyno-proven results!

But the green is kinda hot...

Which is exactly why you don't want it. Hot on the intake side isn't a good thing.

Besides, like E said, they've copied K&N or another reputable manufcturer, which is never a good thing. You can always copy a design by reverse engineering it, but you'll never get the thought process that got it to that point, so even if it is a close to exact copy, it can't perform as well.

I think the reason they are stated as such is because "they are completely re-useable and don't fill up landfills"

Thus making them better for the environment, because instead of being thrown away, they can be recycled basically

Absolutely guys. The green filter looks oh so nice just tucked away inside the intake chamber. That's what I call bling.

The stock intake is dyno proven to be the best intake set-up next to a true CAI.
But the type s looks oh so much better in the engine bay, at least to us who know the difference. It's stock to anyone else. I bought one a while back but it was on back order and I didn't want to wait another month so I got a refund and wound up putting more money together and buying SH wheels.

i like the color. they think they can sell filters by calling them eco friendly (sad thing is it is probably working great for them). I would take a K&N any day over one of these because 1. reputation 2. US company(im pretty sure)

I got 2 K&N stickers with my filter. One of them is on the bottom side of the hood, and the other is on the intake box, it just says not to replace the filter, but still says it's a K&N. I didn't get any gains at all.

That's right. It's a money scheme that's become a fad. Like Bush passed a bill, I think it's 2012, you won't be able to buy a regular light bulb anymore. All that you will be able to get is the curly eco-friendly kind. So if you buy a 60 watt, you're really getting 54 watts, and end up spending more to get the 80 watt so you can make up for the lighting you're not getting with the so-called 60.
Yes, we should take care of the plant. We should have certain standards, like on car emissions, factory waste, and anal emissions, but this whole "green" thing is just a scam. If I could afford it, I'd buy a 1967 El Dorado convertible, HOT PINK, with whale skin hub caps, and all leather interior, and big brown baby seal eyes for headlights. I'd drive around in that baby at 115 mph, getting 1 mpg just to piss off the tree huggers.

I'm going Type S, simply for the bling factor, and the plastic doesn't get as hot as the aluminum piping. By the time I'm done, I'm sure the intake will serve a better purpose though.

Bingo, that was the main reason I'm changing from a short ram, that pipe gets way to damn hot after just 5 minutes of driving.

hahah right on. cept with those eco lightbulbs the equivalent to a 60W bulb only uses 15W of electricity and they last about 4-7 years so in the long run they save money and money is where its at lol. my dads electric bill went down ALot since we switched to them.

That's not the point. When I pay for 60 watts, I want 60 watts dammit. I think I may stock up on the real deal while I still can. It's already hard enough to find those bulbs, even at the Home Depot. If the world wants to go green, they can go back in the jungle. I'll stay in my house with A/C, electricity, gas guzzling cars, big screen TV, and jacuzzi.

you do get 60W worth of light, while using only 15W of energy. thats the whole point of them. same amount of light, less energy used

Why don't you make that REAL Kangaroo leather. And to make it even MORE fun and exciting, you can go out to Australia and shoot them yourself, then when you sit in the seats you can really take pride in what you have accomplished in life
