o2 Sensors

My primary O2 Sensor just crapped out on me, does anyone know if the universals are worth messing with?

I got a universal O2 on my header and it worked fine. I tried a universal O2 on my cat though, and it didn't work so well. I ended up having to buy one from the dealership. Tried saving money and ended up paying more in the long run. I got my universal from advance auto, ask them see what they say. If it doesn't work they "MIGHT" refund you.

i never used a universal O2 sensor, mostly because i was warned not to...dont know why for sure, but i would ask around firts before you get a new one...i had to replace my bank1 O2 and Bank2 O2 sensor...and both were specific for the Honda Prelude....

Universal o2 sensors are such a pain the ass solely because YOU have to solder the wires.

I would spend the $ and get the ones that plug in...

My 1st downstream o2 sensor blew a few weeks ago, replaced it with a $160 Denso OEM spec. Then a few days later my 2nd downstream one ****ed up also so i bought a Bausch universal one, haven't installed it yet though, i was told you didn't have to solder anything but if that's the case, i may go exchange it for the OEM spec one and pay the difference.

Hope you get it fixed... have you considered converting to obd1 and tuning? It's well worth it.

Do you have emissions tests?

No emissions tests in FL. But to be honest, I can't justify spending the money on it right now. Sounds like you had a fun time with it though

Yea, you start wondering how good it is for your car after 8-10 good dyno pulls... but fun nonetheless.

I notice you are the "surf guru," I live in the mtns of NC (about 6.5 hrs from the beach), so I have developed more of an affinity for snowboarding... ever been? I haven't been surfing, but I always thought it seemed fun.

edit... sorry this is so far off topic.
